Did you know your library card gets you into California state parks for free? Not all, but many parks welcome your card as a day pass. This is great news for families and even better news for readers and nature lovers.
This is the best magic ever! Ben Franklin and John Muir could not have fabricated anything better. More than 1100 libraries are partnering with 200 parks to comp the day pass fee.
Here's how to make it happen:
1. Secure a free card from your local library. 2. Ask them about their parks pass program. 3. Check out a book. 4. Find a park.
5. Park. Hike. Read. Enjoy. 6. Rinse and repeat! Besides the park pass, the state also has a program for families with fourth graders called the California Adventure Pass. Check out the perks! All free. You can click the links in this blog or go to the interactive map to find your library and its options. See you on the trails!
